Former IDF Lone Soldier Gabriel Adler Launches Elite Combat Fitness Initiative for Future Lone Soldiers
Lone Soldier Elite Performance provides qualified IDF candidates with complimentary pre-enlistment training in combat fitness, mental resilience and battlefield martial arts
Gabriel Adler, a former Israel Defense Forces Lone Soldier and Golani Brigade combat fitness standout, has launched Lone Soldier Elite Performance, an initiative designed to prepare future IDF Lone Soldiers physically and mentally before enlistment.
The program provides selected candidates from around the world with high-performance instruction at no cost. Its training encompasses combat fitness, mental resilience and battlefield martial arts, with an emphasis on helping Lone Soldiers arrive better prepared for the physical and psychological demands of military service.
“Israel needs Lone Soldiers to arrive ready to make an immediate difference,” said Adler, founder and director of combat fitness for Lone Soldier Elite Performance. “My responsibility is to provide the highest level of preparation possible. Their responsibility is to show up with discipline, commitment and a willingness to be tested.”
Adler created Sin’u-Ra Battlefield Martial Art, a training methodology focused on developing physical control, tactical capability, and mental readiness in situations where sophisticated weapons or technology may not be available. Sin’u-Ra has been characterized by military and combat-fitness practitioners familiar with the system as an advanced evolution of Krav Maga, designed for high-level battlefield performance. The system integrates battlefield tactics and techniques with strength, power, endurance and continuous performance testing.

“Lone Soldier Elite Performance and its founder, Gabriel Adler, embody these principles,” said Brigadier General (Res.) Erez Winner. “Drawing upon his experience of serving with distinction as a Lone Soldier in the Golani Brigade, along with his top performance in Golani’s Special Operations Selection Course, this initiative was created to turn Lone Soldiers into formidable fighters before they enlist.”
From Lone Soldier to Combat Fitness Innovator
In 2011, Adler volunteered to serve in the IDF out of a deep personal commitment to Israel. He arrived without immediate family in the country, spoke limited Hebrew and lacked an established local support network.
Understanding that language would initially present a challenge, Adler committed himself to developing an exceptional level of physical fitness. He trained independently in Jerusalem before enlisting in the Golani Brigade.
Adler later participated in Golani’s Special Operations Selection Course, where he ranked first in combined physical and mental performance. He also earned the highest score on the IDF Combat Fitness Test and received the IDF Combat Fitness Award.
Following his military service, Adler continued developing his approach to combat fitness, hand-to-hand combat, mental resilience and high-performance training. He was subsequently invited to participate in a NFL rookie camp for the New Orleans Saints despite having no previous high-level football background.
Adler has since provided Sin’u-Ra Battlefield Martial Art instruction to special operations personnel and introduced elements of his Science of Warrior Performance methodology to professional and collegiate athletes.
The Science of Warrior Performance
Adler’s training philosophy centers on what he calls the “Science of Warrior Performance,” a system that develops battlefield capability by combining:
- Sin’u-Ra tactics, techniques and principles
- Strength, power and endurance development
- Mental resilience and disciplined decision-making
- Repeated performance testing under physical and psychological pressure
- Tactical readiness for situations in which weapons and advanced technology are unavailable
“Training is testing, and testing never ends,” Adler said. “There’s a very specific way to create a Warrior. This is no longer an abstract concept. I’m looking to see what you are capable of when the battlefield returns to its ancient form. Readiness is not determined by what someone believes they can do. It is demonstrated through disciplined preparation and consistent performance under pressure.”
In addition to his work with prospective IDF Lone Soldiers, Adler offers specialized training for professional and collegiate athletes. Gabriel has successfully tested his methodology while on assignment with Wake Forest University Football, contributing to a recent Bowl Championship. This methodology is designed to help elite competitors strengthen their physical capabilities, resilience, discipline, and ability to perform in demanding environments.
“I was fortunate to spend nearly every day with Gabe for about a year,” said Nick Andersen, an NFL player with the Los Angeles Rams. “During that time, he introduced me to the Sin’u-Ra philosophy and taught me how to apply it not only on the football field, but in every aspect of life.”
“One lesson that has always stayed with me is that war is won before the battle,” Andersen continued. “Victory is earned through disciplined and intentional training. The Sin’u-Ra philosophy and Battlefield Martial Arts training strengthen both the body and mind.”
